The Children's Hospital, Sheffield

 

  • The Children's Hospital, which is part of Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust, is one of only four dedicated Children's Hospital Trusts in the UK providing integrated, highly specialist health care for children and young people in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.
  • Children are treated for a wide range of medical conditions at The Children's Hospital, these include cystic fibrosis, brittlebone disease, leukaemia, cancer, diabetes,brain tumours and meningitis.

  • In the local community the Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust also provides services, including care for children with neurodisabilities and mental health conditions.

The Children's Hospital Charity
 

The Children's Hospital Charity supports and enhances the work of Sheffield Children's NHS Trustl, helping to maintain its reputation as a world-class centre of excellence for the research, prevention, care and cure of childhood illness. The charity funds four key areas:

  • Specialist medical equipment
  • Research into the prevention and cure of childhood illness
  • New facilities to extend the range of treatment provided
  • Improvements to the hospital environment that will benefit patients, families and visitors.

The charity only funds items that are 'above and beyond' normal NHS provision, supporting innovative projects that will keep the hospital at the forefront of paediatric care.
